About Me
Hi, I'm Sandy, I live in Central Queensland, Australia, and am a Self-Representing Artist. I have a gorgeous husband and son, 2 adorable Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs called Suzy and Ella and 1 neurotic, fat, fluffy cat called Moses. My son has a form of autism called Asperger’s Syndrome and he is totally gorgeous even though he is now a teenager – full of hormones and attitude and the odd pimple!! I love “Lampworking” which means I melt a few blobs of coloured glass on a piece of steel mandrel over a really hot flame and then shape, twist, pull, rake, poke or do whatever I have to do to turn the blob into a cool piece of wearable art. My beads are usually one of a kind and it takes around 45 minutes to an hour to produce one of my kiln annealed focal beads. I’ve been playing around with glass since mid 2006. I like to muck around making jewellery & non-wearable items too and I do a bit of silversmithing on the side and I collect Swarovski crystals – just because I love sparkly things!! I also love camping, brown M&M’s, hanging out with friends, bead shopping and sleeping in. I hate clothes shopping, dishonest people and getting up early! So that’s me in a nutshell…
